Mega celebrity Oprah Winfrey is hosting a live streaming event "Unite For America" with Vice President Kamala Harris Thursday at 8 p.m. on YouTube. It will take place before local voters in Metro Detroit. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will also attend.
A press release says the event's goal is "to ensure everyone is registered to vote and continue the tidal wave of support for the Harris/Walz campaign in advance of the election on November 5th." The release, nor the Harris campaign in Michigan, disclosed the location of the Metro Detroit event.
Additionally, the event will virtually feature representatives from dozens of groups that have organized over Zoom since the Harris campaign launched in July, including Win With Black Women, White Women: Answer the Call, Latinas for Harris, White Dudes for Harris, Win With Black Men, South Asians for Harris, Comics for Kamala, Republicans for Harris, Latino Men for Kamala, Out for Harris and Rural Americans for Harris,
