A Chilean natonal woman who police suspect is tied to a transnational gang that’s been robbing homes in Oakland County has been arrested, WXYZ reports.
Vania Herrera Valdez, 21, was arrested during a traffic stop on Monday after her and other suspected robbers set off a surveillance camera at a Novi home on Equestrian Trail.
Police said a tip came from the homeowner, who wasn't home.
“He (homeowner) was paying attention to his phone when he got an alert from an alarm system and noted he saw people in his backyard at his home,” Novi Police Department Cmdr. Jason Meier tells WXYZ.
Police have been trying to take down the crime groups from South America since laset year.
